Ip Man 3 Review — Donnie and Mikey Playing Knuckle Tag

Ip Man 3 starring Donnie Yen

While Ip Man 3 had been out and passed by the time of this writing, I felt compelled to put something out about this movie. Perhaps it’s my martial artist side that kept me on this, or it could be my (failed) filmmaker side. In any case, it’s a good thing that I stayed with it since I feel that this movie deserved a look regardless. It does well as the final installment of the series, with a good bit of thought put into its production. (more…)

VR Porn and Our Filthy Cyberpunk Future [NSFW]

VR Porn logo

Got the idea to write about this from articles on Fusion and Mashable regarding VR porn, although it took me a while due to trepidation of posting something this NSFW here. With both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive coming out at this time and how they can change the way we consume media within the next decade or so, VR porn is inevitable. As the first NSFW post on this website, here’s a crazier direction in writing by talking about what some in my Facebook friends list may find abhorrent, which is exactly what I’m going for. (more…)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

Despite all the negative press it was getting on release, I was able to bite the bullet and see this movie due to a friend’s invitation. I can say that while it’s not exactly the flat bomb that most were expecting (especially when people heard that the Batmobile had machineguns), it’s not that much of a pleasant surprise either. There’s quite a bit that must be sifted through in order to properly judge it, or at least my subjective experience of it. (more…)

Games as Meditation and Productivity Aids

Games as Meditation and Productivity Aids

There has been a bit of a slump lately on this blog, but it may have turned out for the better as I had come across a realization. This little turnaround could be what’s needed to inspire more content here as it’s about playing video games and how it seems to be correlated to my ability to be productive. Games as meditation and productivity aids may seem absolutely ridiculous at first, but I find it to be a rather intriguing concept. (more…)

Clash Royale (Mobile) [Review]

Clash Royale

With Clash of Clans being such a hit in the mobile gaming industry, it took no time for Supercell to come up with stellar games like Boom Beach and now Clash Royale. The difference here is that Clash Royale has a new feature that the previous games are lacking—real-time PvP play. That’s what makes this title more fun and exciting, even for those who aren’t that into mobile games. (more…)

I’m So Done: Changing Stances Over Platform Exclusivity

The PC goes, "BWAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!"

Back when Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, I wrote two posts about platform exclusivity (1 and 2) with perhaps only a rough idea of what it’s intended to do and what its consequences are. In those two posts, I concluded (rather hastily and not speaking what was really on my mind at the time) that’s it’s mostly alright because it’s a business practice that has always been there in the video game industry. However, I’ve had a rethink and would like to clarify my stance on this. (more…)

Manny Pacquiao, Outrage, and Animal Husbandry

Manny Pacquiao on Same Sex Marriage

As the very first video blog I’ve ever posted online that’s of this particular format, I launch my personal vlog channel in the hopes of having more avenues for editorial and narrative content. Writing everything down into a readable format does take quite a bit of time, so I’ve taken to recording my thoughts on video to supplement that. Somehow, hitting it off with the whole Manny Pacquiao gay slur issue like this seems apropos as it would immediately bring some attention to the channel. (more…)

XCOM 2 First Impressions

XCOM 2

Since this post is already more than a week late, let’s just get right to it. XCOM 2 is one of the two games I planned to purchase on day one for the month of February 2016, the other being Street Fighter V. With so much money coming out of my pocket right now to play some good games (for a change) and get something out of them to put on this website (which I’m failing at so far), I might as well give my first impressions of this game more than a week after and with so many people already posting reviews of it. (more…)

The Pantomime Theater of Reaction Videos

Fine Bros reaction to losing their chance at greatness

After that whole issue with FineBros, reaction videos are once again under a spotlight. After looking at comments detailing just how stupid they’re supposed to be, I decided to dig deeper into them. Despite that whole brouhaha about greed and the banality of FineBros’ content, reaction videos are everywhere on the Internet. While I most likely won’t have one on here (at least not with me watching something and contorting my face while making noises), I’d like to talk about them and why they’re oddly compelling. (more…)

Advanced Mining Strategies for Minecraft

Minecraft: Mining Strategies

If your goal in Minecraft is to build a nice wooden house and wile away the days with a little farm and maybe a few animals, you need never venture below ground at all. But then again, where would be the fun in that? Unfortunately, most of the fun to be had in Minecraft will require you to go mining, and the dark and dingy caverns under–blocky–foot are not for the unprepared. Here we will discuss some Minecraft strategies to consider when going in search of those precious materials. (more…)

Top 10 Games of 2015 [Video]

Avoiderdragon's Top 10 Games of 2015

I’m almost three weeks late for this, but at least I got it out before February rolled around. While late for that annual hot period for top 10 lists for X year, I think it’s still ripe for yet another list because I do think I’m hot shit like that. It’s not a very “complete” list though since I only include games I got to play in 2015, so it’s bound to get sticklers flustered by the absence of certain titles that do merit recognition, but those games already got enough attention as is. (more…)

Best Build for Learning Fallout 4

Fallout 4 Vault Boy

It has been well over a month since its release, and I’ve played one character for most of that time. I only got to post this now during the Holiday season due to work. For the first playthrough, I think players must be able to experience as much of the game as possible to get as complete of an impression of how it is as a whole and to enjoy it as much as possible. Whether you actually go with this build or disagree with it, it’s still important to play it the way you want. But if you ask me, the best build for your first character must be one that lets you see close to everything and get your money’s worth. (more…)
