For years, I’ve been mulling over changing the web design of this crummy blog of mine. I got it to a point where it looks fairly decent, but I still have to struggle with it every now and then. Usually, YouTube embeds stretch out the mobile version, in which case I have to mess around with the CSS again to fix it. But now, with these new developments, I’m pondering on abandoning WordPress — my content management system of choice for over a decade — because its creator and founder has lost his mind. (more…)

What is Avoider.net?
Even after the rebranding, I’ve been struggling to write more on this blog because I still couldn’t figure out what Avoider.net should be about. It has always been about my interests, but most of those interests seem banal now, especially now that I’m entering my late 30s. I want to write things that will be helpful and relevant even after many years, and I’ve already done that with some of the posts here. However, I know I can do more, so I’ll take this chance to figure out what this thing should really be about. (more…)
My Roadblocks in Doing Event Coverage Vlogs
In a bid to increase and diversify the content posted on this blog, I’ve thought of posting event coverage vlogs. While it may be a good idea, I’ve hit roadblocks along the way. I’ve had this idea for quite a long time now, but I’ve yet to post something a video or write-up on a convention or any other event worth talking about on this blog. Killing False Hopes by Fending Off Referrer Spam
This website is admittedly not even a tiny blip on the blogging radar (or at least not yet), but I’ve been finding ways to get there somehow. Perhaps being able to post daily content is the best solution to my current problems, but I’ve also encountered another problem recently that’s quite annoying on its own. It’s not bad enough that the website is trying to get more views, but also that the views from real people and not from referrer spam. The latter has become quite a pain in the neck for many websites lately, especially for the smaller ones like this one. (more…)
