Sunstone [Feature]

With Valentine’s Day having passed by and Fifty Shades of Grey becoming this growing mutated mass made of leather whips and rope that has droves of women going to movie theaters and book stores to consume what looks more like a sad example of adult writing, I thought of recommending something more human and heartfelt that still involved whips and rope as part of intimate activities (whatever makes you happy). One of the great things about Sunstone is that you don’t need to shelf out hard-earned money for a ticket — it’s free. (more…)

Puzzle Forge 2 Mobile Game Review

Most of the games I ever play on mobile are either strategy or puzzle games in various forms. For the longest time, SpellTower was the only game on my phone, and I also liked Rymdkapsel. When I bought a new phone, it looked like I wasn’t installing a game on it anymore. But when I heard of Puzzle Forge 2 in a podcast, I had to try it out. From what I’ve seen, my time was certainly not wasted. (more…)

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis [Review]

After twelve episodes, the anime based from the card game has now concluded, and here’s where I assess whether it lived up to my first impressions and had jumped the shark along the way. It’s a good thing that it didn’t do so for the most part, although there are a few parts that may induce some head-scratching, especially due to how short it turned out. It’s still pretty sweet though, which made it worth tuning in. (more…)

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis [Impressions]

It seems easy to dismiss an anime series with a name similar to the famous Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), but this is definitely no copycat. Shingeki no Bahamut has its own charm and flair, and it actually does do well to impress early on and promises to be a lot more later on. The name in English is “Rage of Bahamut: Genesis”, which is better to go with to avoid confusion with the other show. I’ll stick to the Japanese title though since it’s not one of those really long ones. (more…)

Lucy [Review]

This wasn’t meant to be posted at first as I had watched Lucy when I thought the hype train had already gone past. However, I was kind of forced to watch it again by friends and I felt compelled to finish this review. This seems like what happens when a teenager sees Fight Club for the first time, then plays the game Prototype, and writes his own movie script. (more…)

Kill la Kill [Review]

This is my first ever anime review, and it’s a case of “perfect timing”. For a long time, I hadn’t actively followed anime, and whatever I would watch every now and then would usually not be those in the current season. When I decided to write anime reviews for the first time as a personal challenge, this was one of the first new shows that I ended up viewing, and I’m glad that I came in at the right time as watching Kill la Kill was indeed a blast. (more…)

Serena [Review]

I’ve played a few adventure games before, with titles like Post Mortem ranking high on my personal list. There is also Indigo Prophecy that I liked at first, then grew to despise as I got to near the end of its story. Adventure games are all about the story, and this is a short and bittersweet one. (more…)

Flappy Bird (Mobile) [Review]

Take note that this is what made me learn that the written review MUST NOT wait for the video. I was making a video for this, with the voice-overs and footage already done, but the editing took longer than expected and kept getting hung up by happenings in daily life. I’ve posted this now, even though it’s a month late, since I didn’t want to waste the work put into writing this. Perhaps it’s also good that the fad has passed by so that the game can be assessed more objectively. (more…)

Damnation [Review]

It’s not often when I get myself to play singleplayer in FPS anymore, but this game came two years before the travesty that was Homefront. It only took me less than half an hour of gameplay to pass judgment on it, which may have been too quick. However, it really does deserve it, so I’m not sorry. (more…)

Rymdkapsel (Mobile) [Review]

This game had been out for the PS Vita for quite some time, but I waited for the release of the iOS and Android versions to play it with a touch screen. The simplistic visuals belies the deep gameplay that all mobile gamers should experience at least once. But then again, it’s not easy to play only once. (more…)

Ballistics [Review]

Perhaps one of the fastest games you’ll ever play, along with some other racing games, old school FPS titles, and maybe Sonic the Hedgehog, Ballistics is all about breaking the speed barrier in your PC. Unfortunately, not a lot of people know about this game. (more…)

Surgeon Simulator 2013 (Free) [Review]

This is a rather fun game that can get frustrating fast. It’s about testing your coordination, focus, and patience. Oh man, you better have patience in this game since it will make your hands itch and you screaming for vengeance. You then kill the patient by making him bleed out, and then you try again. (more…)
